July 31, 2006 Wall Street Reporter Magzine Inc. interviewed Dr. Ying Luo, CEO of Shanghai Genomics, as a follow-up of the initial interview in 2004. Dr. Luo updated the audience of the recent progress in product development and business development at Shanghai Genomics. He also described the future direction of Shanghai Genomics and GNI.
May 4,2006 A half-page article, “March of the mini-multinational”, was published on page 9 of London-
based Financial Times. The article claims that the business operation of GNI and Shanghai Genomics prove
that it no longer take great scale to straddle borders. Scientists from China, UK and Japan are working
together to find therapeutic solution for the benefit of all human being. The article lists the Do’s and
Don’ts for entrepreneur with international vision.
January 24, 2006 Yahoo News and PRWEB reported that Shanghai Genomics and Organon, the human healthcare business unit of Akzo Nobel,are to collaborate on a new research project. The collaboration, which will involve biological development work aimed at identification of more selective steroid hormone receptor modulators, will initially last for a period of two years. It extends Organon research interests in China and strengthens Shanghai Genomics’ international credentials. Shanghai Genomics’ integrated drug discovery platform and their expertise in nuclear receptor biology are crucial to the success of this collaboration.
October 7, 2005 Channel Documentary, Shanghai Television Station of Shanghai Media Group broadcasted a special 30-minute episode named “The Sky of Returnee”, on Dr. Ying Luo, CEO of Shanghai Genomics, about his unusual experience from his study in United State to the founding of Shanghai Genomics in China.
June 20, 2005 Yahoo reported the merger between GNI Ltd. and Shanghai Genomics. The combine of the Japanese and Chinese biotech companies is aimed for increasing R&D productivities and expanding market opportunities. Many international bio-pharmaceutical and financial media cited the report.
February 22, 2005 The Shanghai Biomedical Research Outsourcing Base and the Shanghai Pudong Biomedical Research Outsourcing Center are formally established in the Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park of Pudong, Shanghai. Vice Mayor, Ms. Yan Junqi, participated the openning ceremony. Representing all biomedical research companies in the center, Dr. Ying Luo of Shanghai Genomics gave a speech at the cremoney. He pointed out that outsourcing is a major international trend. Chinese biotech industry should play a bigger role in this market. Shanghai media channels reported the event.
January 5,2005 Shanghai TV (STV) visited our company and interviewed the senior management returnee team. Video clips of the company's R&D operation was later broadcasted in the evening news.
November 10, 2004 Dr. Ying Luo, CEO of Shanghai Genomics and Mr. Huisheng Wang, Vice President of Shanghai Genomics were interviewed by the media group from Guang Zhou, China. Members of the media group include Press Office of Guangzhou Municipal Government, China News Service Guangzhou Branch, Nan Fang Daily, Guangzhou Daily and GZYV TV News Channel. July 28, 2004 Major German financial
newspaper, Handelsblatt, pulbished an article about
the roles of returnees in today's Chinese economy. The
article told several stories of the so called "sea
turtles", or returnees, coming back to China from
America or Europe to found new hi-tech companies in
Shanghai. Author of the article also compared the significant
improvement of investment environment in the last two
decades. Dr. Ying Luo was highlighted as a representative
of this group of "sea turtles".
July 26-August 1,2004 CHINA

bite from outsourcing pie", introducing the importance
of outsourcing and the factors blocking Chinese biotech
progress. It takes Shanghai Genomics as a leader in
Chinese biotech/pharmaceutical industry to take outsourced
work, introducing our experience and achievements.
July 9,2004 Shanghai Jie Fang Daily
published an interview with the founder of Shanghai
Genomics, Dr. Jun Wu. The article is entitled "How
Does Shanghai Participate In The New Trend Of Drug Research
Outsourcing?". The article points out that winning
outsourced research work from international pharmaceutical
companies is an important path for Shanghai's biopharmaceutical
industry to grow. It also stated that Shanghai Genomics
is becoming a leading outsourcing center in Shanghai.
June 24,2004 Major domestic media of
China published the Chinese version of Forbes article,
introducing the outsoucing concept in drug research.
May 28,2004 The world famouse financial
magzine - FORBES, published an article on the trend
of outsourcing in the pharmaceutical industry. Through
interview with Mr. Epstein, financial consultant of
Shanghai Genomics, the article described how Shanghai
Genomics and other Indian companies become the major
representatives of Asian biotech/pharmaceutical industry
to take outsourced work from western world.
May 27,2004 Dr. Jun Wu, Chief Scientific
Officer and founder of Shanghai Genomics, was interviewd
over the phone by Biotech Today. Dr. Wu discussed the
company's technology platform and our strategy to build
a rich product pipeline in China. He specially talked
about the collaboaration with US and Japanese biotech
companies and our cutting edge research programs.
May 26,2004 Wall Street Reporter interviewed
Dr. Ying Luo, CEO of Shanghai Genomics over the phone.
Dr. Luo introduced the history and business model of
Shanghai Genomics to American audience. He specifically
pointed out that the Company has built a rich product
