November 21, 2004 Mr. Wang Ningsheng, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of People's Congress of Guangdong Province, visits Shanghai Genomics. Mr. Wang points out that the company's biopharmaceutical platform should be used in the modernization effort of the Chinese tradional medicine.
November 11, 2004 Dr. Xiaoqing Sun, Vice President of Shanghai Genomics, attends and gives a speech at the 7th China-Korea Scientific Exchange Conference in Qingdao, China. Dr. Su outlines the company's R&D platform and specifically discusses the discovery of novel kinase in cell cycle regulation.
October 5, 2004 Editor of Nature Biotechnology, Mr. Sabine Lout interviewes Dr. Jun Wu at Shanghai Genomics for the current trend of drug discovery in China and the opportunity of outsourcing to Asia. In the later published article, Dr. Wu points out that in addition to lower cost, abundant clinical resource is another strategic advantage for the Chinese pharmaceutical industry.

September 28, 2004 Vice Mayor of Shanghai, Mrs. Yan Junqi, visits Shanghai Genomics. Dr. Ying Luo and Dr. Jun Wu report the company's recent R&D progress, with focus on the recent trend of internatinal research outsourcing to China. Vice Mayor Yan points out that the biotechnology industry is very important for Shanghai's futur development plan. She also discusses about how to promote faster growth of biotech industry in Shanghai. Mr. Li Yiping, Director of Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai, and Mrs. Shang Yuying, Deputy Governor of Pudong New Area of Shanghai also attend the meeting.

September 25, 2004 Dr. Ying Luo attends the "Shanghai Pudong Sea Turtle Entreprenaurship Roundtable Meeting", sponsored by the Shanghai Overseas Returned Scholars Association. Dr. Luo's discusses domestic venture capital environment and new business models. He specifically points out that the biotechnology industry in Shanghai should actively look for outsourced research project from pharmaceutical industry. Mrs. Shang Yuying, Deputy Governor of Pudong New Area of Shanghai£¬and more than 70 returned scholars attend the meeting.

September 21, 2004 Dr. Ying Luo is invited to give a speech at the "2004 Across the Strait Biotech Forum" in Shanghai. He analyzes the complementary strength across the strait and proposes new models for collaboration with Taiwan biotech industry. He emphasizes that collaboration can significantly reduce the cost of new drug development and speed up clinical studies. More than 60 people from both Taiwan and Shanghai attend the meeting.
July 15, 2004 Mr. Ding Xuexiang, Deputy Head of the Department of Organization of the Communist Party of Shanghai and Director of Human Resources of Shanghai Municipal Government, visits Shanghai Genomics with other government officials. He praises the team work model of the Company and expresses his support for returnees to come to work in the Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park. He also encourages the Company to become a leader in taking outsourced research work from international pharma.

June 6, 2004 Dr. Ying Luo presents at the SAPA West Conference in Milpitas, California. His first-hand experience of founding a biotech company in China is welcomed by the audience. He specially emphasizes the importance of team work and financial models in China. He also points out that research outsourcing is a trend in North America. Shanghai Genomics is a strong leader in this area. Dr. Jun Wu, CSO of Shanghai Genomics, later participates in other BIO2004 activities.
April 15, 2004 Dr. Ying Luo is invited to give a speech at The Second Chinese Pharmaceutical Industry Summit Forum-2004: Division Point, Test Stone. The title of his speech is "The Road to Success for a Chinese Biotechnology Company". Dr. Luo analyzes the international competitive advantages of a biotechnology company in China in details and emphasized the importance of international collaboration for innovative research. He also participates in the subsequent panel discussion.

April 13, 2004 Dr. Jun Wu, CSO of Shanghai Genomics, attends the Drug Discovery in Developing Countries Conference. He participates in the topic discussion of Drug Research and Collaboration Strategy, and exchanges new ideas with executives from multinational drug companies.
April 12, 2004 Dr. Arthur Weiss and Dr. Lewis L. Lanier, members of the Scientific Advisory Board of Shanghai Genomics, are invited to visit our company and give scientific seminars in the company. The seminar titles are ¡°The Molecular Mechanism of T Cell Activation¡± and ¡°NK Cell and Tumor¡±. Scientists from both the Company and Shanghai area attend the seminar and exchange ideas with Dr. Weiss and Dr. Lanier. They also review the progress of current R&D programs.
