This conference is organized by Sino-American Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Professional Association. His presentation and panel discussion focuses on the recent trend of sourcing in biotech industry of China.
October 19, 2005 Dr. Guoqiang Long, Deputy Director-General of Foreign Economic Relations Department, Development Research Center of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, visits Shanghai Genomics. He listens to the report of the clinical development of Shanghai Genomics's therapeutic product pipeline. He also investigates how to provide a even better environment for returnees to grow biotech industry in China.
October 10, 2005 Member of the Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Shanghai, and Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Pudong New Area of Shanghai, Mr. Du Jiahao visits Shanghai Genomics and listens to Dr. Ying Luo's report of the Company's R&D progress. He encourages returnees to focus on innovative research and praises the team work model of the Company. September 27, 2005 Dr. Ying Luo is invited to present at McKinsey Pharma R&D Summit 2005. In his presentation, Dr. Luo reviews the growth of Shanghai Genomics and explains the importance of providing contract research service to international biopharmaceutical industry. He also shares the our experience of how to find good partners outside China. Finally, he emphasizes that a balanced therapeutic product portfolio is a critical to long-term growth of young biotech start-ups in China.
July 5, 2005 Governer and Vice Governor of Pudong New Area of Shanghai, Mr. Zhang Xuebing and Ms. Shang Yuying visit Shanghai Genomics and listen to Dr. Jun Wu's report of the Company's R&D progress. The governers encourage returnees to focus on innovative research and instructed Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park to allocate more resources to improve the living environment for entreprenaurs.
July 1, 2005 Dr. Luo attends "Pharma & Biotech Partnering Conference" in Shanghai and gives a speech, elaborating the importance of collaboration with western biotech or pharmaceutical companies. He specifically emphasizes the importance of how to grow the company's value during collaboration. His talk is well received by the audience.
June 19-22, 2005 Shanghai Genomics sets up an exhibition booth at BIO2005 in Philadephia to introduce contract research to the global pharmaceutical industry. In this event, Shanghai Genomics is dedicated by the government of Pudong New Area of Shanghai to supervise the exhibition booth design and construction for China. The "China Pavillion" catches a lot of attention from local media and conference participants.
June 18, 2005 Dr. Ying Luo, CEO of Shanghai Genomcis attends SAPA-GP and is invited to geve a speech. He introduces the business model of Shanghai Genomics to the Chinese biologists in US and shares the experience of developing biotech R&D programs in China with the audience.
May 27, 2005 Shanghai Genomics merges with GNI. Both companies combined to Increase R&D Productivity and Market Opportunity. News release is attached.
May 14, 2005 Recommended by the Shanghai Overseas Returned Scholars Association, Dr. Luo is awarded the "Leader of Science and Technology of Pudong New Area" by the Pudong New Area Government of Shangahi. A ceremony is held in Zhang Da Square. Governor of Pudong, Mr. Zhang Xuebing, hands the certificate and reward to Dr. Luo.
May 11, 2005 The Chinese SFDA grants Clinical Trial Permit (CTP) to Shanghai Genomics for anti-lung injury compound F647. Dr. Jun Wu, CSO of Shanghai Genomics, points out that this is the first CTP and a major milestone in the Company's history.
April 6, 2005  Executive Vice Mayor of Shanghai, Mr. Feng Guoqin and other government leaders visit Shanghai Genomics and hold a round-table discussion with returnee entreprenaurs in the Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park.
