In-vivo bioluminescent imaging allows the non-invasive detection and quantification of orthotropic, metastatic, and spontaneous tumors. IVIS can also non-invasively detect micro metastases with high sensitivity, visualize metastases generated from primary tumors spontaneously and assess anti-cancer therapies over the course of treatment in-vivo. Luc cell lines can link luciferase expressions to signal transduction pathways, which is a key to the oncogenic process. These models offer the ability to track activation of factors that signal cell death, survival, or angiogenesis.
