      Organon (www.organon.com), a subsidiary of Schering-Plough, creates and markets prescription medicines in the areas of reproductive medicine, mental health and anesthesia, and its products are sold in over 100 countries.  Its leading products include Follistim/Puregon, a follicle-stimulating hormone for infertility; Esmeron/Zemuron, a muscle relaxant; and NuvaRing and Implanon for contraception.  Five more compounds for such indications as schizophrenia, contraception, infertility, menopause, and anesthesia are in Phase III trials.

>> CHINESE NATIONAL HUMAN GENOME CENTER AT SHANGHAI 

         The Chinese National Human Genome Center at Shanghai (www.chgc.sh.cn) was established in Shanghai on March 4th, 1998 and hung out its brass plate on October 29th, 1998. The Center is supported by China’s Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Chinese Academy of Science and the Municipal Government of Shanghai. The Center is located in Shanghai’s Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park in Pudong New Area.
