Shanghai Genomics (SG) can provide a whole suite of services to validate gene functions in different cell signaling pathways. Proteins and antibodies are generated in-house to facilitate in-vitro and in-vivo target validations. Animal models can be established with IVIS (in-vivo imaging system).

Protein production

Shanghai Genomics (SG) has a well-established protein expression system including: bacterial E. coli and eukaryotic insect cells. We have successfully expressed and purified hundreds of proteins for cell activity assays, animal experiments, antibody generation and drug development. Our customers include top-10 global pharmaceutical companies such as Roche and Organon. Facilities house 100K and 10K clean rooms for fermentation and the purification processes. We have two FPLC systems (AKTA explore 100 and AKTA FPLC), a HPLC system (Waters 600E), a 30L fermentation system, a 10L two-lever shaker and a high pressure homogenizer for >10mg prokaryotic expressed proteins and 1-10mg eukaryotic expressed protein.

Shanghai Genomics has been providing mouse monoclonal antibody and rabbit polyclonal antibody generation services for customers for more than 5 years, and has successfully finished over 100 antibody generation projects. We use the traditional immunization protocols for antibody generations. Usual turnaround time for rabbit polyclonal antibody generations is 3 months, and a typical timeline for monoclonal antibody generation in Balb/c mouse is 6 months, including 12 weeks of immunization, 6 weeks of screening and cloning, 4-8 weeks of colony expansion and antibody purification. The strength of antibody generation services at SG comes from our experience in antibody generation against various antigens and our dedication to provide high quality services on time to our customers.
